About Australian Property Projects

Australian Property Projects Pty Ltd (APP) is a South Australian headquartered company specializing in property development and the hospitality industry.

Aurora Resorts & Hotels Pty Ltd (ARH) is an associated company wholly owned by APP that operates and manages the hospitality businesses.

APP has been in business for 24 years and during that period has undertaken business activities primarily in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The Company now holds property and investments of more than $85 million in value, predominantly in the Northern Territory and has projects underway in South Australia and Queensland.

APP has held tourism property since 1991 but it was not until 1997 that the brand “Aurora” was created. The ARH group now has an annual turnover in excess of $30 million. In the Northern Territory ARH is the third largest hospitality owner and operator with over 500 rooms in Alice Springs, Darwin and Kakadu. The marketing department of ARH is based in Melbourne, with international representation in the UK and Europe. ARH also markets the Mirambeena Resort in Darwin (225 rooms).

The Adelaide head office of APP and ARH has accounting, marketing and secretarial functions to support business. ANZ (Adelaide) is the company banker and KPMG (Adelaide) the company accountants.

APP has strong bipartisan relationships with investors, bankers, joint venture partners, community groups and staff alike. APP is totally committed to professional integrity and good corporate citizenship.

The group is currently involved in the development of:

  • Ghan Estate – 18 hectares of general and light industrial subdivision in Alice Springs, and incorporating industrial building works
  • Several multistory residential tower blocks in the Darwin CBD
  • A major inner suburban remediation/residential townhouse project for over 200 dwellings at Brompton in SA, as part of a joint venture involving the SA Land Management Corporation
  • Kingfisher Lakes – an eco-style residential lake project for 150 dwellings close to the centre of Hervey Bay
  • Hervey Bay – Multi-storey residential tower blocks in central Hervey Bay
  • Bargara - Multi-storey residential units on the oceanfront
  • Tourist facilities in the Kakadu National Park and Central Australia

Property development projects completed by APP in the past have included:

  • Renovation of existing dwellings in Adelaide
  • Redevelopment and strata-titling of over 400 multi-level units in Perth
  • Construction of over 200 new medium density and detached dwellings in NT
  • Development of broad-acre residential land division projects in NT
  • New tourist accommodation, restaurants, convenience store, petrol outlets and services works associated with ARH properties
  • Subdivision of 5000ha of freehold land at Ross River into rural allotments (land sold before division approval)
  • City Edge – redevelopment of 51 two-storey townhouses in Alice Springs
  • Torquay Terraces – 13 allotments sited around a lake and three multi-storey residential towers
  • North Edge – Redevelopment of existing motel units and residential land division
